Beckrich Road Construction Began September 4, 2007
Construction activities began on schedule on September 4, 2007 and are expected to be completed summer 2009. Current activities include the installation of the road base on the north end of the project and curb installation along the south end of the project. All major boring for utilities is complete at this time.
This project includes the segment of Beckrich Road from north of Front Beach Road (SR 30) to south of Back Beach Road (US 98) The length of this segment is approximately 3,683 feet. New travel lanes will be constructed which will result in a four lane roadway. Turn lanes, bicycle lanes, sidewalks, storm water detention ponds and landscaping will be added. All utilities will be relocated underground. New traffic signals will be installed and updated signing and pavement markings are also included in this project.
GAC Inc. of Panama City is the construction contractor.
The cost of construction is approximately $9.9 million and is funded entirely by the Panama City Beach CRA.
